Prayer of Divine Mercy

I was thinking today what a wonderful prayer the closing prayer of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy makes...

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion - inexhaustible, look kindly on us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.

It's a great prayer of hope in our heavenly Father. Life would be so much easier if we could only live by its petition. When things go bad, it is human nature to despair. We hope in God but can't separate ourselves from the situation to let Him provide His guiding grace. We'd like to submit ourselves to His will, but it rarely seems "with great confidence". And yet He loves us despite our faults and our reservations. If He did not, He'd not have sent His only Son so we might triumph over sin and its end result... death. His mercy truly is without end. I pray today that more of us will submit ourselves to His call, to His holy will.
